However the 1st team will have an advantage. Because if after the 3rd match there is still no winner, then in 4th match player A will play against player Y.

What you think about this old Cresail FL with black metal tag at 111g? I bought it from Japan, has an awesome feeling and play great but for me is too heavy, I can't play with blades heavy than 91-92g.

The blade had cracks but was professionally repaired and now the handle is hards as a rock, the carpenter made a great job, don't worry about it.

My price for this Cresail is 135€ all fee included, shipping with tracking number.

For me no. I still win or lose against the same people the same way. I think the difference is a bit less than that. It seems like defenders would disagree with me.

Hi JacekGM,

Thanks for your response and suggestions...

That's another aspect I'm wondering 'bout  - whether to opt for an OX, or to get a minimal sponge (like 0.5mm or 0.6mm), and how much of a difference it would make.

My own take on National Pogo: avoid it. True, it is very easy to use, but it is even much easier for the opponent to do with your shots whatever they want.

For me, 755 was much better, considering the average of control and difficulty for opponent. Similar holds true for 388d-1. A few guys in my club use TSP LPs or MPs for close to the table blocking style. Maybe have a look at these, even P1R can work well for the blocking style even though it is meant primarily for modern def/choppers.

My thinking is - Start off with a easier LP, and then progressively move-on to more effective, but difficult to use LPs.. Initially, I just want to get a feel of an LP, cause, at this point, I don't even know if it'll suite my game, or whether I'll be able to adapt or learn the technique...

The 755 and 388-1 comes recommended by many, on this thread.. So, I'm open to even these..

Also, there is a bunch of very interesting LPs from Dr N. if you don't mind spending some.
Another option is to start with a tough one, like the Tibhar Grass DTecs and go through some suffering on the tough road to excellence...

Since I'm only going to be trying to LP, initially, I surely don't want to start-off with advance and expensive ones like Dr. N and/or DTecs...

I've recently used Xiom Vega SPO and I'm definitely impressed with it. I used to play with 802, 802-40, Raystorm and Clippa for periods of times and lot other SPs but very shortly. It has a very lively sponge which gives it very fast top end speed. Flat counter hitting is really nice and gives that speedy direct dead ball effect and still generates enough spin in underspin pushes and brushed strokes.

Yes, good SP rubber but it dépends if you need more speed or more spin because it is very difficult to have both with a SP rubber. I have tried maybe tried 50 SP rubbers and regarding spins, 802-40 is really a good choice if you don't need a bomb.
I remember also the spectol OX which I used with a defensive yinhe 1mm sponge. Haha, this was a choping weapon. The opponents couldn't believe it was a SP rubber, the ball was more cut than with a tackiness C.

Are Jewish boys possessing some eminent faculties for table tennis?

Polish born Aloiz Ehrlich, chronical "chopper", he used oversized odd-looking paddle.
He survived while in the "camp of death" as playing pingpong the camp's chief warden.    German Nazi had a sincere respect for him.

All the pre-war 1920-1940 pingpong champions were of Jewish origin. Why?    Give Your every theory, please.

Has anyone tried this blade? I'm planning to stepping down from Viscaria because of control issue. I want a 5ply blade that is off/off- and still good looping as Viscaria and 83-85g. How is Artic wood compared to Korbel, Virtouso, acoustic, and rest of the 5 ply. Don't know what to choose.

I have read that Artic wood is quite stiff? I really don't want it to be super stiff, need some flex.
