Its funny, in Bayi they play ZY and XC instead of FZD, but LGL favors him in the international tournaments. There must be some powerful uncle from the communist party behind FZD. I heard LGL is getting frustrated with him not delivering anything though.

On a different note, Bayi can deal some serious damage even without WH playing..
FZD is younger. This is more of a long term potential play. And of course, note that FZD beat Ovtcharov.

Yeah, they also didn't play WH, must be because he's a scrub that just won't develop too LOL  Pretty sure they just wanted everyone to get some playing time, especially when playing bottom feeders like Bazhou.

The key to FZD's continued ascendency isn't even the fact that he's made it to the world top 10 as a 17 y/o, it's that he rarely loses to foreigners.  In fact, his only loss to a foreigner was during his professional international debut at the Qatar Open.

EDIT: I was just checking out CTTSL's player rankings.  FZD currently leads the league (win/loss ratio) with a 9-1 record.  Behind him in order are Ma Long at 8-1, Yan An at 12-2, Ovtcharov and Wang Liqin at 7-2, Xu Xin at 12-4, and Boll at 7-3.
He also lost to Matsudaira at the Asian Championships.

The point here is that FZD is 17 and is expected to be competitive by the next Olympic cycle.  You can either make him wait his turn or give him experiences now so that he won't have to adjust from scratch in two years time.

Who did Ma Long lose to?
