visiting a club can be intimidating; doing so and taking lessons from the local coaches is easy because it helps building an immediate ownership of your presence's legitimacy.
Build a plan; I suggest you budget a 10 hours over 10 weeks coaching plan; $400 or so?
Tell the coach you want to buy a blade + rubbers. Tell them what kind of game you want to play (wink-wink-nl). Chopping with the backhand? YES!!! after you know how to bh loop with an inverted rubber that can block and chop sometimes; what I mean is you want to be exposed with possibilities; and make decisions from there.
