Subject: Options for Hard sponged "sticky" rubber?

Tried the G888 for the first time yesterday.. It is the max (2.2mm) version of the rubber.. I was really looking for anything thinner but that's the only one I could get.. It is the hard version of the sponge which I like.. I have to say that the rubber, even in max is very controllable and feels excellent.. I actually like it as good or maybe even better than G666. I have to play with it more.. I have a tournament today through Sunday and won't do much experimenting, so I will only get to extensively use the G888 until next Thursday with my coach.. My impression so far is that the G888 with the hard max sponge is really good to lift heavy underspin.. Something that I'm not able to do with G666.. I was able to actually spin against heavy underspin much better than with G666. It is faster but only has slightly less control than the 1.5 mm G666.. The G666 seems a little stickier but I can get more or less the same amount of spin on my serves.. The feel is really good.. I'm pretty sure that my future backhand rubber will be one of those 2.. I might try G666 with 1.8 or 2mm, maybe even 2.2 mm before I make my final decision. I stayed away from 2+mm sponges as in the past, I had problems controlling them, especially on 729 rubbers and I also did try Hurricane 3 with 2.0 mm in the past and it was too fast for me with too little control for the short game. However, G888 has a lot more control in my view than Hurricane 3.
