What is 100% sure is only ball feeding will not do the trick; ball feeding AND competition will; hand in hand, all along.
I believe hitting with a high level coach, a practice partner rated at 2400 or above is not necessary to reach that level; ball feeding sessions involving 2400+ pace and spin and exposure to that level in competition is enough.
The important factor is that a lot of money can be saved as those high level players are not cheap to spend time with when rated several 100s points below them; a good ball feeder might charge twice or 3 times less.
In the dream club, beginners are required to learn ball feeding as they learn to hit from experienced players who know how to feed well.
Another very important factor in addition of cost savings is the fact the ratio [quality training]/[time spent training] is so higher when getting fed balls.
